What is Miscarriage Support?

  • It is an opportunity to be in an understanding and supportive environment with others who understand one's loss.
  • It is an opportunity of sharing one's grief in a safe and understanding environment.
  • It is an opportunity discovering that one is not alone with one's loss.
  • It is an opportunity of coming to terms with one's loss and pain.
  • It is a healing environment that can lead to a healthy future.

Who should attend?

  • Women who have miscarried, experienced a stillbirth, and/or have had the experience of an infant death.
  • On occasion there will be sessions where fathers are welcome to deal with their grief and loss.

What opportunities are there?

  • There will regularly be opportunities for those present to share their feelings with regard to their loss(es).
  • Helpful information on very relevant topics will also be discussed in group.
  • Questions can be addressed and discussed by the group on most related topics.

What does it cost?

  • There is no fee and no registration.

What issues are addressed?

  • How can I move on after this loss?
  • How to deal with feelings of responsibility and guilt?
  • How has this loss affected our marriage / relationship?
  • How do I deal with others I see pregnant or having kids?
  • How can I cope in healthy ways with my loss?
  • Will I ever be able to have a child(ren)? How soon?

  • Immanuel United Church of Christ gladly offers this and other support groups to the members of the church and wider community out of sincere care and concern.

When and Where?

  • Meetings are held on the third (3rd) Tuesday of each month at 6 PM in the Office Conference Room.
