Our Sunday worship services is all about being in community, sharing love, and praising all that God has to offer. We praise God through prayers, confession, meditation, music, sharing, preaching, and Holy Communion. Our traditional worship service offers opportunities to find our own stories in the stories of our faith and scripture, to seek personal comfort and hope, and to experience God's presence in and around ourselves. Immanuel's sanctuary is a spiritual home to people from all walks of life, coming together to worship God, become more like Jesus, and serve God's beautiful creation. Join us for a café fellowship hour in the Fellowship Hall immediately following worship. Visit our Plan Your Visit page for more information on Sunday Morning Worship.
At Immanuel, our life begins with worship. Worship binds us, feeds us; it is that unstoppable thanks we shout to God for life! We currently host a Sunday 9:00 am traditional service.
The Gospel According to John
The gospel according to John is about experiencing something beyond organized religion. It’s about experiencing new life in God. John is unique compared to the other three gospels. In John the emphasis on Jesus as the living wisdom of God is demonstrated through a series of dramatic stories that are rich in symbolism and meaning. Employing a series of images that are often couched as opposites (i.e. dark and light, thirst and living water, blindness and sight) John seeks to invite us to reflect more deeply on life instead of being merely swept along by tradition or habit. Our focus on these rich stories in John’s gospel throughout the season of Lent (the period of 40 days before Easter not counting Sundays) is a time in which we prepare to more deeply understand Jesus, his life, purpose and passion in our desire to follow him.
